I'm new to this site and thought I would start by showing what I'm working on right now.Its a 2d mag rop with the low bulb powered by two 18650s for up to 8.4 volts fresh.I get the same power as the high bulb because the low bulb can be driven at higher voltage.I guess that the power to the bulb is 7.5 volts with fresh batteries and its about 663lm.I don't have the metal reflector or lens yet. here is some pics

Welcome to the forum!

I think because you are brand new, your pics don't work. You have to have a few more posts before links work for you. Hang around, make a few comments, then we can see your work!

I like ROP low.
You are overestimating voltage though. Reality is cruel.
Unless you have already done good job of resistance mods you won't get 7.5v to the bulb.
Mag tailcap spring, switch and bulb holder will rob you of volts.

I used ROP high and low with various reflectors, SMO, OP, 2 inch, 2.5 inch and 3 inch.
Even in a very low resistance modded mag with custom low resistance bulb holder and low resistance tailcap switch, ROP low can't compete with ROP high in a standard Mag with no resistance fixes.

I will take a look at the voltage.I have a question for you have you ever had the reflector fog up I was using the high bulb when this happened.

I did my test of voltage with my batteries at 7.53 volts and measuring at the post I have 7.30-7.25.I think the resistance mods are bs to say that you can lose that much voltage over a spring and a switch really.

Do you think this is BS?
Far more articulate than your claim.
Conclusions in that post apply particularly to ROP.

http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?99710-Mag-Switch-Resistance-Fix-1-6th-stock!

Results with stock switch vs modded switch with 1111 bulb:
1111 on 7.2V bat.. 6.6 to bulb.. 649/722 L > 7.09V 834/542

That seems remarkably similar to my claims!

edit
That poster infamously ripped off CPF users. His reputation as human being is shot.
His technical abilities and achievements not, they are clear and well defined.
He made and sold one of the most highly regarded devices ever on CPF.

So I think I'm going to get some OFC wire and go to the battery to the bulb and to the super low resistance switch and back to the battery and put it all in liquid helium then it will have no resistance at all.
