I am assuming that you are double clicking to toggle H1 and H2, and there is no change. That is, that it has not just had the default high set to H2.

I've had no troubles with my SC52w in this regard but a few times I've had some minor issues like this with my SC51w. Try removing the battery for a few minutes. Then put the battery back in and wait a few seconds for the circuitry to "boot up". Make sure the tail cap is tightened properly. See if this helps. (Of course, make sure you've got the light programmed to operate the way you want it to like Hondo says. :ironic

Make sure the back ring of the body and its contact point in the tail are both clean and free of any lube you might use.

Make sure you're not on H2/H3 instead of H1.
