Is there a OEM Surefire tailcap that operates like the L1 or the EB!-Tactical that I can out on my E1L-A. I want a press / twist (not a click tail cap).

I thought I read you can switch the tailcap because the brain (operations) is in the head.

Is the twist on/off E-Series HA color the = Z52

If so, will the Z52 run the new E1L-A, low then high

Sure. You just have to twist it on, then off, then on again to switch modes. You could also use the momentary function to change modes.

But, why would you not just want the clicky? People like the twisty because of the amperage it can take for mods, not because it's more convenient.

I have two and all were burned out when I tried running the IMR bulb from Lumens Factory. I think there must be a short circuit somewhere in my E2e which caused the springs to shrivel and blacken.

I had one that came on my E2E that I purchased in 2003 or so, but sold it in favor of the clicky, just more convenient in my mind :) Good luck finding one, but you might post in CPF under Wanted.
