Re: ? about Explorer 6.0

try re-registering the files below:

click on start > run
type in REGSVR32 <filename>

where <filename> is one of the following:
Shdocvw.dll
Msjava.dll
Urlmon.dll
Mshtml.dll
Browseui.dll

see how this goes /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: ? about Explorer 6.0

I typed in REGSVR32 and got the following?

No DLL name specified

usage: regsvr32[/u][/n][/i[:cmdline]]dllname
/u- Unregister server
/s- Silent; display no message boxes
/i- Call Dllinstall passing it an optional[cmdline];when used with /u calls dll uninstall
/n- do not call DllRegisterServer;this option must be used with /i

I am not sure I am doing this right? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: ? about Explorer 6.0

that message baically tells you that you are missing the file you want to register.
you need to type in the filename after regsvr32.

eg.

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

see how that goes.

Ok I have done this with all the file names and it said that it succeeded after them all but it still does not work. The window opens but just stays blank it never takes me to the new link?

Re: ? about Explorer 6.0

Do you know when this started happening?
Have you made any changes to your computer before this started? eg, install/remove any hardware/software?

you might need to extract the following files from the xp CD to replace them:
- Shdocvw.dll
- Shell32.dll
- Oleaut32.dll
- Actxprxy.dll
- Mshtml.dll
- Url.dll

To extract, click start > run > msconfig
click on 'extract file' button.
follow the prompts to extract the above files.
FROM location: <CDROM>\i386
TO location: c:\<windows directory>\system32

otherwise, you might wanna try repairing or reinstalling IE6
see how you go.
