Newbie here! (As if the question doesn't show that)

Been lurking for awhile, but would like to convert a mini to LED. Is there a good/great drop in mod?

I realize there are probably 500 posts on this but can't figure out which to do.

Welcome to CandlePowerForums.

An excellent drop in would be a dat2zip sandwich. IMHO you will find no finer workmanship in the world...literally. They have thier own forum here at CPF as well as websites for R&D and sales. Here is a link to the forum: The Sandwich Shoppe

Have fun!

The Opalec NewBeam is a drop-in that contains 3 5mm leds. It provides a good, broad flood light up to about 10-15 feet. Runtime (bright) is about 10 hours on a set of alkalines.

The Sandwich Shoppe modules use a single Luxeon LED. They are brighter than the Opalec but cost more and have shorter runtime.

You kind of have to imagine your own typical scenario and then buy the appropriate light (and then imagine your next scenario...)
