A little off topic granted,

But I've looked at a couple LED/incand headlamps and well... they don't measure up to ARC quality.

Are there any high $ - high Q headlamp companies?

(If not, ARC there's an unoccupied market niche)

@ catfishguy ;-)

Lupine is supposed to be the god of the headlamp market.

Make sure you soundly sit down before clicking on "Pricelist". :-D

The HDS Action Light is a high-end headlamp for caving. It has 24 LEDs. Price....$349!! www.hdssystems.com

Link to Craig's review of the Action Light HERE.

Ironically, in light(ha!) of your thread topic, HDS Systems is working with ARC on the upcoming ARC LS4. Henry from HDS is doing the programming of the new light.

Another vote for the Lupine here.
No second floor drops yet /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif , but I use it on the bike, and it did survive a 40 kmh crash, the cables got caught in the spokes a few times, and the battery fell off twice at high speed (got it securely taped on now).

And yes, their prices make ARCs seem like a bargain.

You guys are Freaky...

There will actually be a headlamp version of the LS4.

The LS4 and Action Light 3 will share many of the same components. We will be making the AL3 for HDS.

Ship date? After the LS4 and LS5 are up to speed.

Glad to know there will be a headlamp version of the LS4.

I have a headlamp mod by Silviron that uses 2 or 4 AA in series/parallel. I use it with my rev1 Arc LS and can you say 14 hours of sunmode with 4 Lithium AAs. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Peter its good to know that you are
working together with HDS. Are there any
prototype pictures of the AL3 or is it just
a mounting option for the LS4.

I would like to see a "head" mounting option
for the LS4 as well. I think would be a good
assecior (word?)

Cheers
Ralf

Guys, all you will need, is a ballcap. The clip placement allows for clipping to the brim of a ballcap. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
