Hi everyone

I recently purchased a nitecore ea4 and after playing around with it for a while, I found out that the turbo mode promised is the exact same brightness as the high mode. Is this supposed to happen? I am using Duracell coppertop batteries however they have chinese letters on them. Could that be a contributing factor? The batteries are fresh.

Sounds like a battery issue. I use 4-year old eneloops and there's a significant increase in brightness between "Turbo" and High modes.

How fresh are the batteries? The EA4 will lose its turbo mode once the batteries voltage drop below a certain voltage. Try a new set of batteries.

I have Ultimates (L91) in mine without any problems. Definitely have a Turbo mode. I like the energy density, but mainly have them for the temperature range, since winter here frequently gets to below zero (F or C, take your pick).
