Best way to drive 3 LS\'s?

What's the best way to drive 3 LS's at or a little above spec using any combination of 6x123 (ie, 3 series pairs in parallel, 2 parallel banks of 3?

I'd wire all three LS in series, and drive them with 4x123. You also might need a small resistor in series to limit current flow to whatever level you wanted.

Getting a little more sophisticated, you could use 5x123 or even 6x123 and run all three LS in series, but instead of the resistor use an LM317 regulation chip (costs less than a dollar) plus a resistor to make a constant current regulator. That would be neat! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Or else get a step-up circuit that'll do that. dat2zip's badboys won't do it stock, but if you pleaded with him to change the output cap, you could run them in series off of 1 or 2x123 batteries...
