Hi Chaps, I wonder if anyone has any information about this driver please.
I bought some red LED 501btorches to sample them prior to possibly converting to cheap air rifle range lamping torches. Turns out the LED performance is very poor and they dragged about 900MAH so I decided to dump the LED - but see what the drivers would do for an XP-E red in case I could still use them.
I initially fired an XP-E red up on an aluminium star and noticed it pulled 2.6 amps... and it almost spontaneously got too hot to hold. I then rigged it up to a same spec LED on a copper star and copper slug. It pulls 2.6 amps - seemingly quite reliably.
I don't want to leave it on without knowing a bit more about the driver - could it be a pulsing type, and if the LED will take it.
Last time I tried an XP-E red on a fixed 1.4 amps it didn't last long. The revers side only has the usual small + spring with no other components on it.
