Streamlight makes the SL4AA with 2 different types of lamp assemblies, LED and incandescent. Can you switch the lamp assemblies using the same flashlight body? Thanks.

dockersguy-I posted but it went ???. I have both the SL 4AA's. I switched lamp assemblies, works fine. They appear to be the same basic assembly, except the LED model has a resistor (?) wired in. I have heard the original LED's didn't have that, and had some problems. The front ends have the same construction basically, same OD, length, etc.

I have not found anyone that sells the LED lamp assembly by itself.

Have a 3C Xenon SL, kinda cruddy beam, very, very tight, with NO side spill. Wonder if this lamp assembly switches too. I like the pocket clip. The SL 4AA Xenon has a nice round smooth beam by the way. Kinda like a Scorpion.

Would one of you electrical geniuses comment on 4AA's driving 7LED's vs 3C's driving 10 LED's ?
