My Apoligies if this appears twice my first attempt didnt seem to show.

Hi All

I was wondering if someone could help.

Recently I dug out my M14 with some need to using it again and realised the batteries must be flat as it barely flashed.

So I tried unscrewing the back and that was a major mission, stuck quite hard, but with some persistence and cursing managed to unscrew it.

I was a little confused as i thought the whole barrel would come out but as that wasnt the case and presented with 4 screws i unscrewed them and off popped another lid

not clearly seen is/was some oxidisation from the batteries around the groove so ive cleaned that out as much as i can, but here is where I am stuck, there seems no way to go any further...

You're right the barrel should come out. Perhaps battery corrosion has solidified the barrel/carriage in the flashlight.
