Not a household name I know but he well known among biologists and biochemists.

He was a hero of mine when I was a kid. Only one of four people in history to be awarded more than one Nobel Prize. His work developing the dideoxynucleotide sequencing method (first reliable DNA sequncing method) and his work determining the first amino acid sequence of protein (insulin) are extraordinary.

I was thinking about old legendary scientists like Sanger, E.O. Wilson, Watson, and Weinberg not too long ago and was feeling sad that they probably don't have too much time left. Very sad to see Dr. Sanger go.

Rest in peace Dr. Sanger. Thank you for all your contributions to mankind.

Sorry for for your loss Imon.

Never even seen any of these guys in person except for Weinberg at a symposium and even then I didn't get an opportunity to talk to him.
Thought maybe his name would ring a bell in this forum since flashlights = technology but I guess not.
Thanks for reading though.
