What\'s your favorite light?

This post is a deceptive ploy for me to get some ideas of what I can get myself for christmas. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif I'm looking for a LED based, hopefully Luxeon based, flashlight that runs off 2x123a (are 123 and 123a the same size?) batteries with more than 1 hour of runtime, 2 would be nice. I'd like something that's does not have too tight of a beam. For example, something like Rebel 2AA has a beam that's too small is hardly useful for me. A clickey switch would be nice, but not necessary. I currently have one of those Legend LX flashlights, which is decent, but the battery life is just too short IMO, and I just want an LED one.
Also to keep with my topic... My favorite flashlight is the Arc-AAA. Hangs with my keys and really useful for finding stuff, especially now since it's getting dark fast and my porch light has been smashed into bits by strong winds. My second fave is PT Attitude. I've others, but I hardly use them as the beams do not seem to be powerful enough. Thanks folks!

Re: What\'s your favorite light?

Everyone's favorite light will be one they own, possibly the most expensive one in their collection.

That said, CNC-123 baby!

Arc LSH-P w/Tight Focus Beam. AKA the Arc LSHF-P.

I've also got a L4, L5, and L6 I use too. But the Arc is the only one with me all the time. For my money, the best EDC light there is.

There may be better mods but they don't come with Arc's great customer support and warranty.

ARC LSH-P
Surefire A2
ARC AAA
In that order, but the AAA gets more use than the A2.

Re: What\'s your favorite light?

i think you'd like the Streamlight TL2 or TL3. the names reflect the number of 123 batteries they take.

http://flashlightreviews2.home.att.net/reviews/streamlight_tactical.htm
that's a link to infamous CPF'er Quickbeam's review of the lights.

if you think the beams are too tight, you'd love the Surefire L4.

Edit: i don't have any 123 LED lights, but my favorite light is the Streamlight 3AA Luxeon Tasklight..

but on Christmas i'm opening my Arc LSL, so things could change.

Re: What\'s your favorite light?

That would have to be my Mclux'S,, and my Arc LSH-P.
Or, a combination of the two. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I EDC an Arc LSH-P on a 1x123 Mclux pack.

I'd have to say ArcLS, don't actually own one yet, but it's on the wish list.

Inova X1 does seem to be great for starting conversations in college class though!

That's easy I only own one LED and it is the SL TT-3C. It's great for around the house/garage and property...

Re: What\'s your favorite light?

I'd have to say my Arc-LSHP with clicky.
If I only had one flashlight to grab (out of like 300 others), this one would probably be it.

Re: What\'s your favorite light?

You said 2x123, which means you want an L4.

Re: What\'s your favorite light?

Arc LS is good if you want something small.

But you may also consider Surefire L1. It has a dual output swtich that cover many tasks a normal person will need a light for. High-1.5hr; Low-50+ hrs

I suggest a L1 since I just bought mine; I can't help /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Re: What\'s your favorite light?

Tough choice, but the front-runners for me are the Arc LSH-P, Mr. Bulk's McModule, or the Space Needle.
I would have to go with the Arc for it's versatility.

But for a real bright light: the MR-X.

Re: What\'s your favorite light?

1. ARC LSH-S (twistie) with Q3J transplant (does that make it a "P"?)
2. Streamlight TL-2 LED
3. TIE- ARC AAA LE / ARC AA second
4. Surefire E2e/KL1 with Q3J Transplant
5. Lightwave 4000 (try to wear those D cells down!)
