One thing that comes with being a flashaholic is having many lights! How do you organize yours? In a pelican case? Around the house or something else? Also how to you keep all the accessories that come with the lights organized (e.g. o-rings, lanyards etc).

By the way pictures always make a thread better :)

I really just have them lying around the house in various rooms. In the car, I keep two that don't get used often.

Spending a bunch of money on fancy cases is nice, but what good is it if they're not immediately available at a moment's notice? (i.e. on a shelf in the garage, laundry room, basement, etc)

As for the lanyards and o-rings...I never used them. But I keep them and the original box of every light in a big storage box in the garage.

Lights for use belong where they can accessed quickly. Mine are in cars, trucks, the boat, almost every room in my house, the garage, and my office. I do have "spares" which are kept in a couple of plastic boxes with dividers that I picked up at Home Depot. My extra cells, lanyards, holsters, o-rings, lube, and misc spare parts also live in these boxes. Definitely not a Pelican case and foam setup, but way better than a shoe box.

I keep all the original packaging, instructions, accessories (not I use) in plastic bins in the basement. That way I know which bits go with which lights and adds value when gifting or selling a light.

Most lights are in their "use locations" - vehicles, emergency kits, drawers, jackets etc. My EDC rotation of lights and other items are in a valet/organizer on my nightstand when not in use.

Less used or more specialized lights, educational lights (some would call these errors in judgement) are in zip lock bags in plastic storage bins in my nightstand along with maintenance supplies, batteries, chargers, etc.

i buy lights to use or learn from and not to display so this system works for me.

Great responses, currently I have all my accessories like batteries and stuff in a little plastic bin and my lights scattered throughout the house. I was trying to think of a good way to organize everything. Some good ideas in the thread so far!

I don't have very many higher-end lights, so the few I have mainly go on my belt and in my backpack that I carry daily. However, I do have a few extras on a nightstand as well as one in each of our two cars.

What means this..."Organize" you speak of?
LOL I'm not exactly sure how to explain it...:shrug: Just wondered how people keep their light related items together in a way that makes sense to them and is easy to find what they are looking for.

Most of my lights reside in the drawers next to my bed, as do my chargers and batteries. I've several lights in cars, workshop and other places strategically located in areas of need.

I like to know where my lights are as I'm rather forgetful.

Some I store in my Peli or B&W Outdoor case. Some are on my desk, so I can grab them easily.
All their cardboard/plastic-boxes are stored away, with o-rings and stuff inside the box. Normally I don't throw-away any flashlight-box.

I have a small shallow book case where I keep all my lights and knives on display with easy access should I need to use any of them. Batteries stay with the lights on the shelfs and all the extra o-rings and bits sit in a draw.

The most of them stay in a drawer by my desk but some are laying around to be used right away.

Right now I am some in a plastic compartment box, some in their pouches in a gym bag, some in their original boxes and of course some out and ready to use. One of my to-dos for the new year is to organize my lights more efficiently, so we'll see...

My EDC rotation titanium lights go in a pelican case and the rest are in different rooms of the house or in my car.

Mine tend to organise themselves. The most recently used ones are in convenient locations in the house, and the less used ones stored in a drawer along with the spare batteries and chargers and stuff. Specialist ones like those with red LED mods are in with the astronomy equipment etc.

It's no coincidence that the most recently used ones are also the most useful - so the ones dotted around the house include a Gladius, couple of HDS, D10 etc. The ones in the drawer tend to be the ones with annoying or less useful UIs.

EDC sized lights are in a small bin with a hand-made separator to stand them up in the top night stand drawer, which is pretty much my EDC drawer (knives and pens included)

2 bigest/baddest/brightest lights on the floor between the bed and nightstand in case of an intrusion.

All unused flashlights sleep in a plastic toolbox.

Some lights scattered around the house, where most gets too see some usage; night stand top (at least 2) computer desk, shelf over the washer and one in the kitchen drawer.

I use plano boxes (yes, plural) to keep unused accessories and o-rings in.

I also keep spare batteries in plano boxes (yes, plural again!)

I have a small basket for commonly used battery chargers

I have another bigger basket with a cover for lesser used chargers. Desperate case, am I...
