C21C : No turbo below 3.87 volts

Sunwayman's C21C is my go-to light for nightly dog walks. However, turbo no longer operates when the cell voltage reaches 3.87 volts. The same happens using newer Panasonic 3400 & 3100 cells, AW 2900, Keepower 2900 & AW 2600. All cells are charged with an Xtar VP1.
Anyone else notice this?

Contacted Sunwayman. They answered: "Yes, voltage below 3.9V will not activate Turbo".

That is quite normal.

typical of buck drivers with single-cell lights.

get something with buck/boost like zebralight. you get full output even as the cell depletes
