I don't know a lot about this stuff, but basically this glass, which is being used in homes and business now, can be clear or frosted, by an electric current as easy as flipping a switch.

This would make quite the useful flashlight lens if it's possible to incorporate into a smaller size and didn't us up too much power. Giving one the option of throw or flood.

Does anyone have more knowledge about it's applicability to a flashlight?

Interesting idea. IIRC most smart glass applications are used to block light, not scatter it. That wouldn't be good in a flashlight application. But if there is a way to just scatter the light, it would make a very cool diffuser for a flashlight. I have no idea how much power it would require, though.

Definitely falls into the "cool geek toy" category, which might make a great seller if could be made for an extra $20 or so on the price of a light.
