Multi-mode drivers with dual switches?

Hi all,

I've recently made a Ultafire SK98 clone with an MT-G2 with a 4.5a 3 mode driver (H-M-L), however as with most custom lights they are only able to change modes by half-pressing the switch, which can only be done after the light is powered on..

Is there a way to set the mode of the light before it's even powered on? With dual switches to enable 2 mode groups? (maybe group 1 is 100% only, group 2 is 30% or 1% or strobe )

Eg, for some other commerical lights, they have two switches (or triggers?) that will determine the mode, for example, loosened head will enable either m-l or strobe when powered on, and fully tightened head will straightaway output 100% when powered on

Cheers!

you are tied to the driver design.
But one 2-switch light i repalced the driver at did function as this.
The chip that defines the modes was powered OFF by the second switch.
the switch was connected to the ground, was constantly on and cut the current to the chip when pressed.

In your case you got to find the pin of the chip that is connected to the ground, disconnect it, and wire sych a switch between it and the driver board ground
