There has been a lot of discussion about runtimes of HDS lights on the lowest settings; one such thread containing runtime tests is [http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?339961-NEW-HDS-Clicky-140-amp-200-Runtime-Tests].

One thread discussing the difference in runtimes between clicky and rotary versions reported a response from Henry, who said the versions in question should have equal runtimes, as they use electronics that are very similar; this post is here [http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb...y-and-Clicky&p=3786016&viewfull=1#post3786016].

Another post involving some tests using electrical equipment is here [http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb...stems-EDC-14&p=3648479&viewfull=1#post3648479], along with accompanying data here [https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub...8UdG05Sy1YajlzMTcxTW9UU2ZfekZYOHc&output=html].

Since the new, 250-lumen versions of tactical and rotary models are now available, we have a lower low and a higher high, suggesting that the draw due to the LED should be less for both reasons (that is, the lowest absolute light output is less while the LED is also being driven less hard for a given absolute output).

Is anyone else interested in lowest-setting runtime tests for these new versions? I think it would be interesting to see whether the efficiency of the lights has been improved at the low end (assuming the electronics have been updated), or to compare generations of models against one another, or to see whether there is now a variation in runtimes across the models.

If anyone who snagged one of the new models would like to do a runtime test (after the obligatory fiddling) on either a primary or a rechargeable, I would love to see the results! I thought I'd make it easy and create a thread where we can consolidate some runtime and efficiency discussion. :)
