With the success of your previous aspheric, I'm very much looking forward to see the success of this. Should be a huge hit.

I am debating XPE2 at 3.5A or XPG2 at 5A...We will see :)

If you've got a good diameter lens why not go for the XPG2. But if it's smaller the XPE2 will pack a punch too with a good heatsink.

Yah I am also thinking about mounting the LED on 3-4 layers of modified copper heat sink base to help with the immediate heat bottle next.

Might even try the more expensive Arctic Silver instead of the Arctic Alumina. Heard Silver conduct heat very well. ;-)

I suggest a dedicated aspheric thrower earlier today and now this. Talk about fast response time! lol Really looking forward to this light!

Hoo Boy! Gonna bust my flashlight budget for 2014! Wonder if this could be attached to a picatinny rail on a .50 cal single shot AR upper.

Believe it or not, I really find that I use aspherics a lot, especially when I want to see whether that dark shadow skulking around is a cat, fox, coyote or raccoon without blasting a wall of light into everybody's windows. Sadly my Dereelight hit concrete and cracked so I'm in the market for a new one.

I think xpg2 as well so that the spot is a usable size and with more lumens :D

Agree I am always more concern with usability vs Lux numbers

But who knows a 5A XPG2 might has the same surface brightness as a XPE2 ...

I think they would be close. I seem to remember reading somewhere about an xsearcher with dedomed XPG2 at about 3 amp producing ~350k lux so I think it could hit 500klux :D
would 5A XPG2 be direct drive or current regulated?

I put an xpg2 dedomed on sinkpad in my xsearcher with standard xml driver and it out throws everything I have. 5amp would be insane, heatsink would want to be substantial in such a narrow body!

I have doubts that the little aspheric one can match my z6vn.

Re: WTS: XsearcherVN - Dedicated Aspheric Thrower

i had a 3amp xpe2 pill made by vinh that did 300klux

xpg2 would probably be around 400-500k at 5amps

if you got a wavien collar you would see 700+ easy
