During the course of measuring the critical dimensions of my L1 Lumamax, I managed to get into a somewhat destructive mode and removed the control circuit from the body.
Don't ask what happened to the circuitry, it is gone bye-bye. I am somehow going to make this work with 2 primary cells and an E-series head. Below is what is seen looking down the tube. The shelf (or divider) is approx. .1" thick. Not wanting to bore the entire length(yet anyway).
ETA: I have drilled, filed and sanded/polished to remove the shelf that is located in the L1 (long body).
Now working on tail cap mod to compensate for slightly shorter body length
