If you sign up for the "notify me" on the Malkoff website, you will receive a message as soon as they are back in stock. I know, I am a HUGE fan of signing up for those!

    Same here!

I live my MT-G2 drop in in my bored 9P,

Can't wait to justify the cash for the Wildcat V5!

This is impressive but I think the multi array variants just look cooler IMHO.

I agree, but man the MT-G2 I have in a P760 host is crazy bright, and the 5000K tint is actually perfect for me,

I am stoked gene has this out there, I have a V3 that stays in my primary vehicle all the time. It's
all scratched up and gets used for all kinds of stuff.

I am thankful I picked a V4 last year because it's just a tad brighter and a little whiter in the beam.

I have laid to waste plenty of my friends so called "Duty Lights" with my MT-G2, and it's just a drop-in.

I am awaiting the email confirmation they are back in stock and I am G2G.

    I only wish there was a Hi/Med model, or a Med/Lo model.

Something with enough juice to get me through a bike ride on 2x 18650.

How long will the Wildcat run off a 3400 mAh 18650? In that config, it only puts about 800 lumens.

The new MT-G2 Wildcat won't run on a single 18650. Or were you referring to the XP-G2 version?

Ahhh, I thought this was the old Wildcat thread, darn Tapatalk.

Since we're talking about the MT-G2 version, you could run it off three 18650s. The product info states it's safe when fed up to 14 volts.

Unfortunately, that makes it a pretty long light, with an overall length of 10 5/8". Ya, I just screwed two bored A19s onto an MD4, with a V4 head to take a measurement.

It would be long but I wonder if it actually could be desirable if Gene made an extender. At least for those users who already have other flashlights running on 3x18650(I am waiting for a Thrunite TN35). Also the question is if 3 cells had been more efficient and resulted in more than 1,5times the runtime than 2 cells?

When I first saw that the new Wildcat could handle up to 14V I was immediately wishing for an "MD6" body and thought about picking up a couple of bored extenders as Grizz described. Of course running 3x18650s would give longer runtime but it would fall short of being 50% greater than two cells as the buck circuit would turn much of the extra voltage into heat. With the reduction in efficiency, output would actually be slightly lower than with two cells while the light runs in regulation.

After seeing the difference between 3x123A and 4x123A in the new Wildcat, I lost some of my interest in trying 3x18650 . . . of course I will still probably try it someday!

Thanks 880arm for the valuable information! Yes, now I see the graph in #46. It still would be interesting to see how the graph looks for 3x18650, though. Because if I choose between 3 and 4 CR123 cells I prefer 4. Slightly lower output yes, but still more than twice the runtime at high level before the final drop.

And WOW, that MT-G2 is HUGE! (From L to R - Wildcat V4, Hound Dog V3, and Wildcat V5)

First time I've even seen an MT-G2. It's a monster

The beam is a very creamy white with only a hint of a hotspot. The pattern is about like an M91A on steroids!
correct me if I'm wrong, but are the dimensions of the XP-G2 Wildcat head basically (or exactly) the same as the new MT-G2 Wildcat?

I waited several weeks for Wildcat to be in stock again. During the time I got Thrunite TN35 instead, and now the budget is too limited. Within a month or so there are no more dark nights for several months in my location, so I will wait until autumn to get the new Wildcat.
Hope Gene will make it possible to preorder in the future.

    Still 7 left...

I just got one. 6 left.

Can we run this on 4 cr123's in an pinch? No reason not to, right?

    Website says you can,

Four CR123 primaries will provide about 45 minutes full output runtime.
