We also conducted the 5 feet drop test 3 times on each light.

There it goes. Both lights came out with minor scratches. Works like new. I hope you guys enjoy this as much as we did.

Brand new TK12? Ouch....

Next time just send me the light brand new and I'll tell you only in writing how the test went :)

I love these threads!! Love to read them and hope this one progresses!!

But I would think most lights could handle this. How about some "drop" tests to see who the real tuff guy is?

I want to see a true sequel to that famous TK40 thread where the guy beat the crap out of that TK40.... It looked like it had been to hell and back. He got it working again, but then finally lost it in even further abuse.

I'd like to see the same done to say the TK61, newest version TK41, and the TK12 shown here. My bet would be that the TK12 might go the farthest. Small, compact, and doesn't have a battery carrier to get messed up.

We did do drop test. We dropped both lights three times fromt 5 feet.

I have to say these torture test is a lot of fun. We might do more with other lights in the future :)

I have pretty much all the lights you mention. Maybe between the TK41 and TK12? The TK12 can definitely take a lot more than what we did here in this thread. There is a fine line between torture test and destruction test tho lol.

Thanks for doing this experiment, it's definitely interesting.

Out of curiosity, what's EagleTac's reputation for toughness? I've always heard that Fenix makes some tough lights, but I'm not as familiar with EagleTac, and I'm thinking of picking up one of the lights in their Clicky line.

The one I tested is as tough as any Fenix lights that I have. I wouldn't worry about the EagleTac is you have concern about toughness.
