Hi guys.

Wanting to build a red or green thrower on the Convoy C8 host using the XPE. There is the option of using the XML or XRE reflector, smooth.

Is one better than the other for throw with the XPE?

Cheers.

I would go with the XM-L reflector. This is one thing I wish more P60 blanks would mention: what LED they are meant to work with.

XM-L, XP-G, XP-E, these all give about the same light distribution, while XR had a narrower output, more forward focused.

I'm building a convoy c8 with xml2 smooth reflector and fet direct drive. :D
I had a sst 90 lined up for it, but I too wanted a bit more throw, so I went with a xml2 to reduce some of the pure floor of that monster led in a c8 head.

You might see if you can find one of those Convoy L2s. They look like they could accomodate an SST sized emitter. I bet it would throw fairly nicely with an XP series LED in there, even with an XM-L.

I like that the convoy series are available as hosts, though I haven't gotten to tear one apart myself, they look very nice compared to some more widely available host options.
