Nitecore SRT7 BEZEL

Nitecore sells a 40mm crenulated bezel they claim fits the SRT7 among other Nitecore lights.

Has anyone replaced the standard SS bezel with the crenulated one?

Way too aggressive for my liking, plus there's no practical way to carry your SRT7 around inconspicuously once you've affixed the crenulated bezel on. Apparently, the bezel is thread fitted, so replacing your standard bezel with the crenulated one should not be too difficult.

Yes

In all honesty it is not practical for everyday use...or many other uses for that matter. It turns the light into what I would consider an actual weapon, and that may/may not be a good thing depending where you live. I took it on a camping trip though and had a blast carving my name into trees :grin2:

My bezel does not unscrew - at least not with any method I have tried yet.

Any suggestions anyone?

The factory bezel is easy to remove. Just push the bezel into your palm and twist. There is no glue securing the bezel. It is a threaded fit, not a press fit.

Managed to get the original off - but it took a pair of pliers and much care not to scratch the anodizing which I achieved by inserting two pieces of rigid (thin) plastic between the anodizing on the light and the bezel.

I agree that the crenulated bezel is a little extreme but I can live with it since it still stands vertically on the bezel OK.
