I was at Home Depot today and noticed a 2D cell with the number 015 by the LED. Anyone know what this is and the specs, runtime, etc.? With my limited knowledge, it appears to be a Cree.

The package specs are the same as when I purchased one with the Cree XP-E (marked 483), 18 months ago. I know from experience, the packaging does not always keep up with the product changes.

Thanks!

They've revised the emitter a few times, but the PRO is the most recent update/release, with runtime and output that's a significant leap over previous models.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not really interested in a Pro.

I would like to determine if the current standard version meets or exceeds the light output and runtime of the one I already have. The one I am using is satisfactory. I just need another.

Maglite's website lists the 2D LED (with the 3W LED) as still outputting 134 lumens. Maybe they are using a differently tinted emitter or something like that.

If you want to get another Mag LED, you should go with the PRO (twice as bright for $5 more). One Amazon review mentioned reasonable output for almost 100 hours.

Just checking to be sure, was it possibly an old Rebel model?

Does it have a bluish tint?

The Maglite LED Pro (2xAA) that I have does.
