Hi EVERYONE... Im Bruno Ceriotti from Galvez, Santa Fe , ARGENTINA... . Ive been around CPF for a while as an spectator but finally decided I should give back something to this great community...

So Here we go... Everything started with the purchase of a Maglite XL50 to replace a Sipik SK68 as my main carry light... Its a far superior light in every aspec, beam pattern, throw, flood, operation modes, and i like the fact that its american made by a brand with decades of history and really good quality products...

The SL is great, but to carry it around everyday it needs a clip... I carry it in my belt or pants between the button and the first belt loop, to the left....

Heres my step by step process... I started with a sheet of steel from a huge bandsaw...

Drilled a hole .01mm larger than the flashlight cap thread, I used a 13mm drill and then a conical stone attached to a pneumatic tool to enlarge it to the desired diameter

Traced the perimeter of the clip.

Taking special care of not heating it too much (it would loose properties) I removed the excess :D

Fine details with the grinder..

Then focused heat to be able to bend it without cracking

And I wasnt very confident on foing this...But i knew it was necesary... To avoid loosing thread contact between cap and body i shaved the clip thickness (1mm) from the body to allow proper threading and o´ring sealing

Once machining was done, I applied black epoxy and baked it for a while. This will give the clip scratch, wear and rust protection and of course that tactical factory looks we all love :D

Here it is... Installed in the XL50... It really turnd a drawer light into my EDC and im really happy for it...It also gave me a couple hours of fun and it made my light fully functional and unique, with a sentimental-personal touch...

Wow! That looks very nicely done. I have a new tabletop drill press I have been meaning to use for something... Do you plan to etch a design into the next one?
