What is the input voltage range of the Surefire KX1 head?

Looking at a KX1 2 mode head. I'm thinking of putting a 2 mode KX1 head on my E2e. I'd like to run it on a 17670 (it's bored) but I want to make sure I won't burn it up doing so.

The current SF webpage states that it's intended to go on a E1e so of course I know it works with 3.1V input. Is the 3.7-4.2V of a 17670 ok? Any chance it would work with 2xCR123's at 6.2V?

I couldn't find any posts related to this info unfortunately. Anybody have first hand experience?

Thanks

I found a few posts about the subject by searching for "KX-1 Li-Ion". You can see the results here.

I haven't tried it myself but skimming through some of the posts, it doesn't look encouraging. Some indicated it may work but others told of how the light would not function properly (pulsing high/low). All seemed to agree it wasn't a good idea.

You can read one example here.

EDIT: Archimedes beat me to the punch and linked to the exact same post. I'm too slow . . . again!

Thanks for the info.

Not what I was hoping for but it saved me from trying it and finding the answer the hard way.
