I just got home a short while ago from running the Tuxedo, NY 2014 Spartan Sprint. Not claimed to be the hardest sprint race of the year for nothing! This year was 4.5 miles up and down the old Tuxedo Ski Resort Mountain with 21 obstacles. This year was much harder than the 2013 race. I am pretty sure the distance was 1/2 mile more with some really challenging obstacles including monkey bars, cargo net monkey bars over water, a grueling barb wire crawl uphill, 80lb Atlas ball carry and torture sand bag carry.
My wife came with me this year to watch, inspire and take some photos. Once I can pull the pictures off her phone I will post them up.
The start line.
Sandbag lift.
Barb wire crawl.
More barb wire.
Still more barb wire - it felt like it would never end!
Sandbag - going downhill. The uphill side was just as steep.
Tired me.
Re-freshing at the finish line.
Me and a work buddy. We did this as a work event and there were about 15 of us there.
