Is it driving a 5W at 750mA or lower?
i saw some runtime graph showing that BB750 have about 50 mins runtime. That means L4 drawing below 750mA? or the ic circuit in L4 has higher efficiency?

If I remember right, the entire L4 (circuit plus LED) uses exactly 1.00 amps from the batteries (two CR123A cells). I don't know what the LED itself is using, but I think Beretta1526's figure is good. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

When my L4 burnt out.... yes the LED BURNT OUT! The circut was pulling exactly 1.8 amps from the batteries! Don't know what happened but I guess the circut went haywire! ?Lost a sense resistor?

The LED isn't supposed to burn out, and the circuit shouldn't draw much more than about 1.0 amps, so I'm guessing the circuit went kablooey or some such horse puckey, and took the LED along for the ride.
Could have blown a sense resistor, but I don't know what kind of circuit is inside the L4.
