Bluebearfire, I like it. MicroBlueBear is a pretty lame name that is fitting for the group of xxxxfire lights out there, such as Uranusfire. At least people who are familiar with Supbeam will know the products are good but new customers may likely be turned off by the name.

According to this page, Mini LED Flashlights, they have their own version of the L10 (From L3 Illumination), EC25 (From NiteCore), and so on. On the other pages, they have what appear to be rebrands of OLight lights. Interesting find!

I thought supbeam made the L10 so makes sense for it to be a bear now..........

I did notice they offer cnc machining services................pressing/stamping etc,can get rid of the name then

Re: Supbeam has changed their name: Microbluebear

I think it is horrible, full stop. I just don't understand how anyone thought it was a good idea.

There are brand names I like, and ones that I don't. But this is the first one I've heard that actually makes me cringe. Might be a great name for the successor to Ty's beanie babies, but totally inappropriate for flashlights.

At least Uranusfire has comedic value, and it obviously a result of either a dare, or a translation issue. Microbluebear has no redeeming quality.

Re: Supbeam has changed their name: Microbluebear

I actually quite liked supbeam ,not the best admittedly but 100x better than this bear. I am a believer in function over form, but still i would struggle with a few $100 on a light with Microbluebear on the side:sigh: . I really like the look of the k40m too,but for me it would have to be supbeam!

Hopefully they will change their minds,if not i can see a potential disaster, more so from the unenlightened customers...................

Hmm... The name is equally ridiculous in Chinese. Little Blue Bear... :ohgeez:
Maybe they wanted a friendly, non-threatening, warm and fuzzy brand name... Like Apple did in the day? :fail:

Wasn't Blue bear the shop knucklehead on American Hot Rod (the late Boyd Coddington's TV show)

Is this something you made, or is it actually on their site somewhere?

I guess it has to do with different cultures. Awhile back I somehow got to the wrong webpage for some company (I forget exactly, maybe verizon or some similar company). Anyway, I think it was the Japanese or Korean version of the site and everything was childish with little cartoon kids and animals, bubble fonts, bright colors, etc. Like something in a kids book...on a site with a typically professional, tech-oriented theme. I thought it was the strangest thing ever, but obviously different cultures expect different things.
