Make sure you get the most recent version so it has springs at both the negative and positive ends of the batteries. As far as I know, most of the 320 lumen versions should have this feature.

Not necessarily a con, but it has either one or two modes, depending on the model.
if you are seeking a tactical light then the mode selection is not a problem.

For comparison, I have a single mode Solarforce L2T, that I use as a tactical light. (solarforce is a inexpensive, quality Surefire clone). The Solarforce lights are sold as a host light, then you add the LED. I have a model L2T, with a single mode XM-L that outputs about 600 lumens. The L2T can run on CR123 or 18650 batteries. The cost of the Solarforce L2T and single mode XM-L was less than the cost if the G2X.

Get an Xtar MP1S ($12) or an Efest Xsmart ($9) charger and a Keeppower 16650 ($9) and you get rechargeable, guilt-free lumens with runtime and output equal to two primary cr123's in a G2X. The batteries are no longer a con.

Batteries are easy to fix:

1) Buy online.

2) Buy in bulk.

3) For safety reasons, Buy only Made in USA or Made in Japan CR123 cells.
