I know the eb1 is rated at 200 lumens. And the e1dl is 300. Is there an actual difference or is it just a different way surefire rates them.

They are different. The EB1 uses a smaller LED and produces a tighter beam than the E1D. Some beamshots are in an earlier thread.
The E1DL is brighter. At least mine was.
