I'm trying to decided between these two lights. They are pretty similar in that they are about the same size and use a similar UI. Here are some of the specs:

QP2L-X Turbo:

Moonlight: 0.5 lumens, 25 days
Low: 5 lumens, 4 days
Medium: 55 lumens, 14 hrs
High: 300 lumens, 3.2 hrs
Max:Burst at 780 lumens, 1 minute
then 390 lumens, 1.9 hrs

D25LC2:
This is a little more complicated because of the choice of LEDs.

CREE XP-G2 R5
LED Lumen: 530*/365/48/8
OTF Lumen: 379*/264/35/6
Center LUX: 8,500

CREE XM-L2 U2
LED Lumen: 850*/557/69/7
OTF Lumen: 621*/412/52/5
Center lux: 5,720

CREE XP-G2 S2 - 2.0 AMP
LED Lumen: 595*/408/54/9
OTF Lumen: 425*/296/39/7
Center LUX: 9,555

NICHIA 219 B11 SW45 LED
4500K, HIGH CRI 92
LED lumen: 420*/287/37/8
ANSI FL-1 lumen: 300*/204/26/6

Runtimes:
(Turbo/high/med/low) (using 2xCR123A)
XP-G2: 1.5*/2.5/18/100+ hours
XM-L2: 1*/1.8/15/100+ hours

* Turbo Boost for 90 Seconds.

I've always liked 4Sevens lights but the ET looks pretty good too. Anyone have opinions on these two lights? Which would have better throw? Will I notice the difference between the lumens between the two lights (and the different LEDS)? The Quark has a burst of 780 and the only as high as 300-621.

Thanks!

My Quark QP2L-X was significantly brighter than my D25LC2 on turbo. It also has a true Moonlight mode which comes in handy for me. I didn't compare throw as both lights with an XM-L2 are good for mainly flood/area use out to 50 yards or so.

The ET says it has a hidden "moonlight" mode but I'm not sure what it is.

I have 2 better choices for you.
I was gonna get the new D25LC2 XP-L2,
when Selfbuilt reviewed the new Neutron 2C,
which I ordered instead.

New Eagletac D25LC2 XP-L V5 $65
ANSI FL-1:
7/54/430/660
6,000 Lux

New Thrunite Neutron 2C V2 2014 $50
ANSI FL-1:
0.1/15/215/600/900
11,000 Lux

An advantage to the D25LC2 is it is very slim,
and can easily fit in your front pocket for EDC.

What's neat about the Neutron is you can remove a tube to make it a short 1C version
and it still gets 900 lumens and 11,000 lux on an 18350 which Thrunite includes.

The new XP-L2 LED is supposed to be a little bit brigher, throwier, and efficient than the XM-L2.

My own purely subjective and anecdotal opinion is the 47s XML lights are just too greenish.
Eagletac Cool White has a whitish tint.
My Thrunite 2C will be here Monday, we'll see then.

The 47s light cannot take an 18650.

There is a Panasonic 3400mAh capacity available,
that's huge compared to a 500mAh 16340.

The ET says it has a hidden "moonlight" mode but I'm not sure what it is.

The 7 lumen is the moonlight mode.

I might be late to the game here but I have the d25lc2 in xm-l2 in the mail and should be here by Wednesday. I don't have the quarks so I am no help there. When I get the light, I'll check back in and see if you posted a decision. If not I'll give you my initial impressions.

D25LC2 even with XP-L has less lumens and throw than QP2L-X. the eagtac also has rather thin walls. and has no moonlight, infact its lowest is still brighter than Level2 on the Quark

the Quark is smaller yet has decent wall thickness.

i have both. i almost never carry the eagletac. the Quark is just better as an EDC

If I were to recommend, Quark QP2L-X should have been my recommendation. But you can always buy the two.........

Do you have any numbers to compare? How can an XM-L (the Quark) have more throw than the XP-L?

Based upon the two I have, I'm no fan of Neutrons for strength or reliability.

I have three of the EagleTAac D25LC2s -- CW, NW and high CRI.

They are ideal for a full-size EDC light.

Tint on the CW is fine. High CRI is my favorite for tint but is lower in lumens.

Best compromise on tint and lumens is the NW. If I could have only one it would be the neutral.

Hope this helps.
