My two Santas brought me two opposite lights for Christmas. My mother gave me a tiny, Brookstone, LED, keychain, Microlight. My wife, uncharacteristically, gave me a huge, rechargeable, 2mcp, Big Lots lantern. The women didn't know of each others purchase and this was only the second light my wife ever gave me.

Note the other extremes with the lights: the lantern uses an old tech lamp and toxic SLA battery; the keychain light uses a bright (Nichia?) LED and two, lithium, coin cells. Big, bright, lantern was $15; tiny, nonrechargeable, low output light was $20.

The extremes were nicely bridged by ksbman's, early, Christmas Lottery, BB Mini M*g. My Christmas lighting gifts were all unexpected and I wouldn't have purchased any of them at this time. Now that I have them, I wouldn't give them up.
