A few updates along my vaping journey:

    • iStick Mini 20w - it's a nice descrete looking mod but it seems to hit a bit on the hot side. Especially if you are using lower ohm loads. My 1.3-1.5 Ohm coils when the iStick Mini is set to 12Watts feel like it is hitting closer to 20W. It works better when you use something like a Nautilus mini with a 1.8 Ohm coil.
    • I picked up a VaporShark DNA40 to compliment my DNA30. The DNA40 is just a little bit bigger than the DNA30 but definitely has a good bit more weight to it. Still a very nice compact size. I am impressed with how long the 2500mAh 18650 battery is lasting in the DNA40. I can literally go all day long from waking until bed time and not need to charge up - that is great for me. The DNA30 barely lasts a full evening. Consider me impressed.
If I have to replace the 18650 down the road I am sure it will not be a problem to re-solder a new one on myself.
    • The spring on my Hana 510 connection went bad and I started getting a bad connection. I sent it in for repair but haven't heard a peep back from them. After purchasing the VS DNA40 I am beginning to question the LiPo batteries on the Hana DNA40. It claims they are 2 x 900mAh lipo (wired in parallel internally). But they are using really cheesy JST RCY which are only spec'ed for 3Amps each. That means that the whole package is only safely spec'ed for up to about 20Watts. Setting it to 40W is 2x the spec of the connector. I also doubt that the lipo cells are really 900mAh as the Hana v4m dies just as quickly, if not faster, than the VS DNA30.
When i get the Hana back from repair I'm going to test it on my Hyperion charger for capacity.

Great info there, thanks for sharing, too add iirc the cell in the DNA40 is the same as the rDNA40 of which is the LG 2500. Just not removable to charge like the more bulky rDNA40.

Super fast charging built in is very handy to have

Yes - it uses the same LG 2500 cell. The fast zip charging is a nice feature - it does charge up pretty quickly.

I wish the DNA 30 would last a little bit longer. When I have a little time I am going to pop it open and do a charge cycle on the RC charger to test capacity - I wonder if the cell degraded due to sitting around. It was still an awesome deal at $60. Maybe I'll pick up a Turnigy nano-tech cell and swap it out with a high quality cell - still waiting for HobbyKing to get them back in stock.

I really like the 2x 18650 idea, however not for the W ,but for the mah(run times). If the could squeeze 2x LG 2500 mah in for a 4.2v 5000mah box mod. Just keeping the size down..... Weight does not bother me too much, just want better run times. Like the look of the vapor flask ,size and cost goes against it for me. £260 here in UK so near $380 ish

If you want lots of capacity on the go cheap you could take a look at the iStick 50W. 2x2200mAh for a total of 4400mAh. Not bad if you don't mind a simple cheap mod.

I have clocked that i50 mod, have heard of a few issues with the charging side which has put me off for now. Some pics of melted mods on a UK forum iirc. Might get the new Kbox 50w when out ,but does not solve my vape run times out

I can eat through a 25r or LG in an a little over an hour chain vaping! Needles to say I go through a good few 18650s a day(sometimes up to 5). However sub ohm vaping is not kind to mah!

    Cheers

Got the 18650M now(no mega tank yet, shop i ordered from has been closed today due to a WWII bomb!!!)
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england...eid=da56ee12c4

    Pics

Next to the ody VV and Joytech

Next to a couple of box mods for size

    Opened up ready for fuel

Can see vents in the grouves

Power on bottom, simple twist to lock/unlock and press to fire

Put the atlantis 0.5ohm and works great from the off, just a mec mod ,no complications, nothing to really go wrong. Hoping for a solid dependable vape...... Being a mec mod and 4.2v cell, with voltage sag i should get around 3.9v for a while,as it tails off there will be plenty of warning to swap cells.

Would sat takes a moderate amount of pressure to fire, can stand on power button easy without firing. Seems a nice balance of pressure.........my pinky may say different after a few hours

Initial impressions good, will leave a few days use for more details etc

    Cheers ven

My Panzer 26650 (clone) and CHA Chariot tankomizer arrived today and I'm loving this rig. Thing is BEAST! Pictured next to (anodized) Sunwayman V10r Ti+ for comparison. I've got a "regular sized" 18650 Panzer on the way.

I have a thing for the Gatlight/Gatling bars, and on the CHA Chariot Tankomizer they provide hardcore protection for the glass tank. It's a good fit for the girth of the 26650 Panzer. It weighs over a pound (1lb, 1oz) in the configuration shown. The spacers for smaller (18mm) batteries it came with are STAINLESS, which will make it crazy heavy. I'm surprised they didn't opt for aluminum for the spacers, but they are high quality.

Over a pound! My eVic/Nova combos tear out the upper corners of the pockets of my t-shirts in a few months as it is...Does that thing come with sling swivel mounts or a baldric or anything? Great looking rig, btw.

$28.58 for the tankomizer, and $42.88 for the 26650 Panzer, but the rainbow version is a few bucks less. So, $71.46 for the rig as shown.

Yeah, it's stout, but it fits perfectly in the "knife pocket" on the side of my carpenter jeans. It maxxed out my gram-scale, so I had to weigh it on my hanging bicycle-scale. The 17 oz weight is with the 26650 eFest cell, the spacers weren't included in its weight. I don't really mind the heft; it feels kind of amazing to behold, and I know it's there. It feels like a seriously high-quality tool or something. I'd hate to get punched in the face by someone gripping this as their fist-pack. It is very weighty though. Really substantial. BEASTMOD.

It's my new favorite EDV, but that might be because it's brand new and shiny.

The beast has arrived...........well it would have been if mr eneloops had not posted his awesome tanks

Aspire atlantis mega, comes with a 1.0ohm and 0.3ohm coil. The latter requires 70+w to power As i am no cloud chaser and like my lungs where they are...........in my chest!!! I have only upto 40W available and have no wishes for more.

So slapped a 0.5ohm coil in
Next to the upgraded aspire atlantis 5ml tank

More vent holes, more so in drip tip to aid cooling when using the 0.3ohm..............tbh should be good on the 0.5ohm too as it can get warm
    Vent holes to aid cooling

The drip tip can be adjusted at the base knurling, fully open,1/2 open and closed to tweak your air flow even further than just being limited to base. So not only aids cooling, also allows further air flow adjustement which can be noticed.
    On the vaporshark rDNA40

Feels a nice solid vape outfit tbh on the shark

And drip tip size big bore style

Actually not as bad as it looks, when i tried it on the aspire v2 it felt HUGE,now feels fine and no dount the atlanis v1 i have will feel small and inadequate in no time
    Cheers ven

I learned it from watching YOU!
I put a more "normal" drip-tip on it, and I like it a whole lot better. Transformed it into a whole new creature, that's more comfortable and seems a lot shorter. If it wasn't sick-as-tits before, it is now.

There was a bit of a learning curve (since it came with no instructions), but now I'm able to fully fill it and use it without leaks or gurgles. It makes all my other mods and tanks seem like a waste of money in hindsight.

Have you seen the new SUBOX MINI coming this month? Might be a contender for the stealth-vape category. I like the looks of it, as long as the battery isn't integrated.

I think it's a 7mL capacity (same as SubTank+). I'm about halfway through my second tank; I've only had it for about 30 hours so far. (1Ω build, @ about 18W, so not sub-ohm'ing or anything) Estimating I'll burn through one tank per day.

Here's a comparison picture, shown next to the Kanger SubTank+ for size reference:

The glass tank portion is 25mm on the Kanger SubTank+, while it's only 23.2mm on the Chariot . . . The Kanger's "Pyrex" tank's thickness might best the Chariot's, which I assume is merely "regular" glass, accounting for the slight difference in diameter. Same spec'd capacity of 7mL on the both of 'em. The Chariot's "cage" adds girth to its beastly stature, for hardcore protection. The Chariot's ACV ring is MUCH easier to grip, with its six-sided nut shape, although nowhere near the airflow of the SubTank+'s massive ports.

Yes Mr eneloops ,my eye is on the mini,UK prices around $100 so no biggie, yes 18650 fed, back slides off to insert fresh fuel

Looks a good back up unit, just limited to size with the sub tank which is ok anyway.

Have you tried the aspire mega ,the latter is a good description

on it now in the shark, works great and fits like a glove . Highly recommend and 0.3ohm if you get the urge !!!! 70w baby ooooooyeh

    Small update on the Hana:

I received the Hana back and they did a nice job repairing the 510 connector.

After plugging in and fully charging up the Hana using the USB connector I ran a discharge > charge cycle on my Hyperion on each cell separately. The discharge rate was 1C (so 0.9 Amps). One cell came back around 775 mAh and the other only showed about 650 mAh. Not really so great considering the advertised rating on the cells.

I tried running the Hana with on one cell connected at a time. Only running at 13.5W the cells showed rather poor performance. After a few puffs the lower rated of the two cells only showed half full on the battery meter. The higher rated of the two was showing about 3/4 full. Once placed back in parallel the two cells together showed full charge - this would indicate to me that the cells are not very high C discharge and experience quite a high voltage drop.

During the cycle the Hyperion showed the internal resistance of the cell to be ~80 mOhm. Good for a LiIon cell, but not super for a LiPo. My new HobbyKing RC lipo cells showed 2 mOhm during charging. I may go on the hunt for better cells.

I'm not sure they make them in the size you're needing but Max Amps sale hi quality lipo cells. If you don't see what your looking for they will build custom packs.

Ummmmm - maybe it's an UK language thing, but I'm struggling to understand your post. Did you have a problem with a VaporShark device - or some other DNA40 - or are you complimenting the DNA40?

On a side note VaporShark is having a huge price slice this weekend on the RDNA40, DNA40 and the DNA30. They are selling for $130, $100 and $45 respectively. I'm tempted to pick up another one at these prices.

    My apologies

Muts nuts ,dogs danglies polite for dogs bo&&ox

the dna board is "supposed " to be all that ,but my first experience was not quite the hype . My rdna30 played up at first and would not go above 3.3v . Sent back for a new one and all good, sold this as someone at work wanted it. Bought an rdna40 and the + button stopped working within 24hrs......argh!!! to get it to work required 2000lb per 2" pressure
So sent back and bought another from UKecigs and all good since. My only gripe with the mat ano ,it marks easy and have found one self touching it up with Rachel's Clio black touch up pen aye works well, even done it on a flashlight too!!!

Those prices are a steal, the dna30 of old still retails at £90 +if you can find one!!!!!,rest are £130 and £150 so well over $250!! Not cheap at all.....

    Cheers Ven

As I still seemed to not make any point reading back the dribble I wrote, basically I felt let down with the reliability of the DNA board due to the issues I had at 1st. However sticking with it and since I do like the DNA board. So I will stick in future with new mods with the said boards, just after they have been out a little longer to establish themselves 1st.

i have a habit of jumping in on pre orders etc and to end up with failures.....about time in learned to be patient !!! Teething problems seem more and more these days!
