A search yielded nothing. I've been out of the loop for awhile so could anyone tell me about the XPL emitter? Specs? Is it just a new and improved XML?

It is a newer emitter that fits in the XP-G[2] footprint that has the luminous flux of a XM-L.
If you have a throw light (where you might typically use an XP-G[2]), an XP-L can be a good drop in replacement that will give you more brightness.

Just to clarify, the LED is not the same size as a XPG2 but as bright as XML2 it's a case of its a standard XML2 (but maybe a tad more efficient + Brighter) but it fit's on a MCPB the size of a XPG2, making it a great option for multi LED setup's in confined environments but throw will be the same a XML2, maby a very very slight increase though.I was hoping it was a XML2 in XPG2 for real though as we could then be seeing some new throw record's!
