Does anyone know if the upgrade (600 lumens) from the Surefire "Scout" type light has made it to the handheld 500 lumens Surefire Fury? I have searched at length but have found no definitive answer. Thanks in advance.

Haven't seen anything but that doesn't mean much. I can say that the M600P Fury Scout Light uses the same XM-L emitter as my early generation P2X Fury and I don't see much of a difference between the two. You can see them compared below at a distance of 30 yards from the swing . . .

The reflector of the M600P is a little bit smoother so the M600P has a slightly (and I mean VERY slightly) tighter beam than the P2X. Like I mentioned, my P2X is an old one so I don't know if the newer versions have the same reflector or not. Aside from a few beamshot photos I haven't taken any additional measurements or made any other comparisons between the two.

880arm,
Thank you for the information and the beamshots. Continued success in your endeavours. I have learned much from your efforts over the years.

Regards.
