Just Today a dealer I bought a light[M3X] from a few years ago gave me this update for the EC11.

Nitecore has found some problems with it and is still working on to fix. So the release date of EC11 has been delayed for at least another 2 weeks.

Looks like the EC11 is the EC21 with a 18350 battery.
Agreed. In fact these all have the same head! Then they get a little longer w/ different battery configurations!

+1 Not quite the same. EC11 and EA11 have XM-L2 where the EC21 and the EA21 has a XPG-2.
I wish the ec21 had XM-L2 U3 ;-)

Re: any new info on the Nitecore EC11 & EA11?

Can't tell from your emoticon if you're serious or not but in any case the U3 is, I believe the highest flux bin for the XM-L2. Theoretically it's the most efficient and when driven with the same current, will produce more lumens than the other bins possibly (depending on your tastes) at the cost of tint.

What's an XM-2 U3?

lol! He was commenting because the "L" was missing in XM-L2 ,,,,,,hence what's an XM-2 U3? We all know what he meant,I guess he was needling him! ;)

Re: any new info on the Nitecore EC11 & EA11?

I thought I posted this on this thread,it was on another thread.

This is regarding the EC11 ONLY

This was on 2.14.2015 one of my dealers emailed me this info: Nitecore has found some problems with it and is still working on to fix. So the release date of EC11 has been delayed for at least another 2 weeks.

THEN another dealer informed me of this,,,,,,[We are talking flashlights not drugs!!]

Yesterday Battery junction told me they would not be getting theirs until March 13th,that is the newest release/arrival date according to them.

Just spoke to "Giselle[?] @ Battery Jct.

Nitecore informed them yesterday[!] that the light would not be released/arrive today. They are still having production issues with the light and would NOT give any further details about that or when it may be resolved and released!

I guess they do not want to promise the dealers another release date after Two of them never materialized!

NOW... almost another month has passed! It's still not even listed at Nitecore.com BJ still has it as pre-order. Andrew & Amanda lists it as "back order". I left a question for Nitecore about it on their Facebook page.

I have the EA11 and if the a EA11 & the EC11 are the same except for battery
Its impressively bright for it size,(using 14500's)
The red LED is about the size of the head of a push pin. They recessed it in the side of the reflector. It distorts the beam on a wall, ceiling ,whatever
The red led is probably @ 0.02-03 lumen ,pretty much just a moonlight(I couldn't read a map with it)
IMO I wish they would have ditched the Red ,added a moonlight mode .
It about as bright as my P12 but the P12 has a little deeper reflector,The EA11 has a slight orange peel reflector .
And we all know how cool white the The P12 beam is,,well the P12 looks yellow next to the EA11.
I'll probably give it to my nephew with a couple AA's .he's too young to put a 14500 in it,he'd blind himself
