I was looking at my Icon Solo tonight, and wondered if anyone had tried using 10440s instead of AAA cells. I know all about the voltage differences between AAA and 10440, but I also know that some drivers have more than enough latitude to handle it. I just can't find out if the driver Icon used is one of them. I have most of a box of AAA alkalines from when my son lived with me (game controller), so I won't be changing over right away, but just wondered if it was possible. TIA

I personally wouldn't do it unless I knew the specs showed it had a voltage range that can handle 8volts. x2 10440 li-ions fully charged, in series, will push that driver to 8.4 volts which I doubt it was designed for. You might get away with a single 10440 with a dummy cell to complete the circuit. At best, I would just use aaa lithium primaries.
