I have a slightly older Polytac HP and the new Polytac 275 lumen with the 10-tap programming. I don't use the HP much because it is such a narrow beam, but it does throw really well.

For general stuff I'd strongly recommend the Polytac 275 lumen. I got mine this past spring and mounted it on my Benelli M2 shotgun. I have a thread on here somewhere with the details, but I've put hundreds of rounds through that shotgun, mostly full-power Federal Flight Control buckshot and Winchester full-power 1600fps 1oz slugs. It has held up great and is mounted on the shotgun right now.

SoCalDep, where do you go shooting? I live very close to Oaktree Gun Club. That's where I go shooting my rifle, pistol and shotgun. I don't use lights on my guns. I don't know a reason I would want to light up my position other than my muzzel blast would give off. What's your reason for using a light on your shotgun?

Would it be better to use the tactical gun series of lights instead.
