Hi guys, i have an ultrafire c8 broken flashlight, its a 18650 powered flashlight. I want to change the LED emitter with 850nm InfraRed emitter.
SKU: 152458 (from dx . com)
here is the specs:
- Color: Silver
- Material: Copper + silicone
- Rated voltage: 1.5~1.8V
- Power: 5W
- Input current: 2A
- Beam angle: 120 degrees

Dimensions: 0.39 in x 0.12 in x 0.04 in (1.0 cm x 0.3 cm x 0.1 cm)
Weight: 0.18 oz (5 g)

i decided to use a 3-mode driver for my night vision scope camera setup.
my question are:
what to consider when choosing a driver board for this emitter, based on the specs above. (driver wattage, output current, output voltage).

please help me...

sorry for my poor english grammar and my typing errors.

hmmm the low LED voltage is an issue

OOne liion drivers in the market are either directdrive PWM stabilized, (too much voltage for your LED) or linear drivers with AMC7135 chips (too much battery voltage burned as heat)

So, my setup won't be optimal? Do i have to use 14500 body and drive the led directly with 1 AA instead?

It is not a battery isue, it is a driver compatibility issue

There si a chance a buck driver (3.6-9V) of 1A (see DX sku3256) will work with the LED... it will PROBABLY output 1.8V and 2A

I cannot ehlp you further cos I this is my limit of my electronics knowledge.

Try starting/searching for a thread in the electronics section for Ir led drivers
