I am pleased to now offer a 1AA light engine option. For use with NiMH or alkaline cells. DO NOT use with 3V primary, or 3.7V RCR cells. The AA converter has 4 levels, including a firefly mode. The converter is from the L3 Illumination L10 and is advertised as having an the modes set at .09, 3, 30, 120 lumens +/-. The CREE LEDs will have slightly higher output.

4. CREE XM-L2 5000K 1AA 3 level light engine, best performance with NiMH cells. This is a converter that was sold by one of the Chinese vendors several years ago, with good regulation on NiMH cells. The low level is not low by today's standards, but is noticeably different than the medium or high levels when using a good NiMH cell, or fresh alkaline. Current draw on high causes poor regulation and runtime with alkaline cells. DO NOT use 3V primary or 3.7V RCR cells. It will destroy the LED. $70 $60 $50 $35 SOLD
