hi all!

I am about to order 17500 batteries for a Surefire 9P (the old round-head, large tailcap button style) that a friend has.
unfortunately i cannot have the flashlight with me to check fit.
So...
Do the old 9P take 2x 17500 length and width-wize?

I just did a CPF search for 'Surefire 9P 17500' and found several threads that stated that 17500s should work in a 9P, and that many have done so without problems. It all boils down to individual cells. Many cells will work, some won't, even the same brand and bought at the same time.

It's kinda like open heart surgery, they may have a 98% success rate, but each time they go to restart the heart, it is 50/50 as to whether it will start or not. [And don't start quoting numbers at me either. It starts or it doesn't - that's 50/50]

I used AW 17500 Protected cells in my 9P for years. Still have them. They fit perfectly inside of the old and new 9P. I found the button top cells provided more consistent contact similar to 3xCR123's. My experience with the non button top cells was not good. Some didn't always make contact, others didn't work at all.
