Streamlight has finally upgraded the 20 lumen for 18 hr specs to 65 lumens for 24 hr (ANSI of course

).
Great light for BOBs and around the house IMHO for non-flashaholics, but I also appreciate the ruggedness, safety rating,simplicity and inexpensiveness.

I do some output/runtime tests and find efficient, regulated AA lights tend to be around ~200 lumen-hours per cell, +/-. 65 lumens for 24 hrs on 2AAs is nearly 800 lumen-hours per cell indicating it's either unregulated, or regulated to game the ANSI rules, which BTW, counts output down to 10% of the starting point. THIS is a good "ANSI" example - 800 lumen-hrs from 3AAAs (which has slightly more energy than 1AA).

Yeah take a look at the shape of the runtime curve. Instant cliff drop off then long taper to achieve the on-paper stats.

I saw that graph too, that's why I mentioned ANSI.
