Hello CPF, long time reader, first time poster (hope this is in the right sub-forum...)

I recently purchased a Surefire m600p Fury Scout Light weaponlight from an online auction site, and after unpackaging have some doubts as to it's validity.

First and foremost, there is no Serial Number or NSN anywhere on the body of the light. The head does have one (Axxxxx), and it's number matches the same number on the side of the inner packaging plastic.

Secondly, the package was unsealed at the bottom (the tape had clearly been cut), with a moderate amount of damage to the box.

Thirdly, the website address on the clicky tailcap is slightly canted.

I'm including a bunch of pics for reference. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

It's real. The fakes use a screw in tape switch connection not the bayonet version shown. Also the threads are too clean for a fake. Finally, not all Surefire lights include a serial number engraved or laser etched on the barrel.

On Surefire's site they show the serial number directly under the "LIGHT" of Scout light Axxxxx. I would call-contact Surefire directly and find out for sure if the SN is on the head-body or both. they should be able to give you other specs to determine if its real.

:welcome:

Looks legit to me. Like NoNotAgain said, they aren't putting the serial numbers on the body any more. I never knew of the NSN being on any of their lights.

Aside from that, it looks pretty much like the one I received directly from SureFire several months ago.
