I would like to take this thing apart, can it be done?

yes it can be done.

remove the two screws that hold the charger triangle on.
you then need three hands, one to push the back of the bulb/switch unit out, and two to depress the clips on the left and right of the module.
once that is out, it doesn't come much further apart.

So its like the maglite ? Where are the tabs and which way do I push the unit out torwards the top of bottum ?
