What a strange light. Shame that the side light low is so high - a moonlight low would indeed make this a good traveller.

On the one hand, very interesting light and features, especially considering they've kept the form factor so compact. On the other hand, to me the UI looks horribly clunky ... in fact, for me there's no single-button UI that controls just one LED that's particularly elegant, save maybe the HDS style interface; a single button to control two separate LEDs was bound to be clunky

I have the C21C which has the same U.I., It's really not that bad. The two issues I have are accidental activations and it always comes on in high when switching from main light to side light and back. The side light with the optic gives it a nice even flood, with that and the magnet I think it could make a good work light. I agree, the sidelight needs a lower low.

Interesting design, first time I have seen anything like it. But for the sidelight I would like to see a 2 lumen and 0.5 lumen mode, instead of strobe and SOS.

Are there similar designs from other manufacturers?

This is a revamp of the C21C, which used a red side LED instead of white. As far as I know, no other manufacturer has a similar design, but I'm not too bothered by that. The C21C was not a terribly good light (for me, your mileage may vary)...I bought it as a replacement for the C20C, but ended up giving it away, and keeping the C20C. I did find the user interface left something to be desired, especially the lack of memory when switching LEDs.

Not same concept, but similar in lateral flood LED (this imalent is more tactical and biggest). Imalent EU06 2015 version: Principal front LED XM-L2 white, two side flood LEDs (one white and one Red).

Klarus has the RS20 and the FL18 although they are much bigger lights. I like the C21C better than the C20C, although I agree that the lack of a memory mode between the leds isn't very good. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the U.I. the same if your only using one led? Press for on and press and hold to change modes.

Been using this flashlight for just one day, found out that the memory is kinda funny.
It will forget the memory when I switched on another LED :D

Question guys, how is this light? is it a good thrower?

That depends a lot on what your definition is of a "good" thrower. But I would have to say no...it has a relatively small reflector, and a relatively large LED (XM-L2 has four times the surface area of XP-G2). It is best at 100 yards or less, even though the ANSI range is higher. The lack of a holster is also a problem for me, especially since the odd shape means that very few aftermarket holsters will work well. Last, and probably most important, the lack of memory when switching LEDs (and starting on high when switching) is a deal-breaker for me. I did try it out, but I was not a fan. The C20C is still the best of the bunch, in my opinion, despite the lower output. It is more compact, still plenty bright, and less annoying to use.

They were nick name it as Night Traveller so I thought it has a good front search type light and short close range light. I was hoping to replace daily carry Surefire LX2. Looks like I am out of luck...

This light sucks big time. I have Vinh's modded version. It's not his fault the light sucks. It just does. Starting on low first and a lower low would make it a lot better. No dumb memory needed.

I have one and love it.I can't think of a better light to carry when on the road. With the magnetic base and side light it's great for changing a tire at night or working under the hood.Every light has it's strengths and this one is a great "Night Traveler".

Wow, such a diverse opinion about this light...does it really throw like 208 meters as advertised?

I got mine and I return it the same day. Here is why.
The throw, personally I think is not as good as LX2, consider LX2 is older. Usually lumens doesn't concern me much it is the UI that turn me off big time. To get the desire mode I want, I had to do several attempts to make it right. Sometimes when i press click, the light is not responding. when I want duo output and it gave me flashing or I want to turn on side light only, it give me brightness rotation. It is just not user friendly.

I have zebralights also have press click interface but because the function is simpler, it is easier to execute to desire mode.

Anyway, I am not very impress by the light. I almost feel if it has two button to activate front and side, it will be more no brainer for consumer like me. currently it is just not easy to use. I struggle with it. However, the duo light design is genius and useful. I hope they can improve or someone else can improve on this concept. The front main light has to throw better.

As Patrick Swayze said in Roadhouse, Opinons Vary:p I just ordered one for 36 bucks. Can't go wrong for that really, I think I blew that in 5 minutes at the casino Saturday.....:D
