New Microfire searchlight coming soon,

I have one pic, but, as I know, this is not the final version. btw later, maybe I can share more, real life photos (from IWA show)

now, what I know,

- Use 9pcs XM-L2 U2 led + 4pcs IR LED
- Max output: 9000lm
- Peak beam intensity: 5000lux@15m or 0.76lux@1000m (real datas, measured in real life in outdoor (beach), real 1km distance. Not "ideal", laboratory numbers)
- Four separate battery units which is composed from 9 pieces of 18650 li-ion batteries. On full power, it can run for 3.5 hours. Every battery unit can be removed for less weight in case, that don't need long runtime.

Update (2015/03/18):

- Water resistant: IPX7
- Tint color: 5300K
- Final version will use "flat lens/dedomed LED"
- Dimensions: Bezel diam.: 160mm, Housing diam.: 147mm, Length 300mm
- Weight: 7.5kg (with all batteries)
- Modes: 9000lm 3.5h, 4000lm 8h, 500lm 55h, 9000lm tactical strob 7.2h + IR 3W 850nm
- NO PWM or other flickering!
- Estimated retail price 2500 USD

Pretty unique design. Looks like the 9 XM-L2s are sitting behind aspheric optics with the 4 IR emitters in the recesses between.
9x 18650 per battery pack - that's a heavy weight for sure. :eek:

That would be my ideal edc light, but they neglected to put a decent pocket clip on it. What were they thinking? :laughing:

Don't forget: Remove the carrying handle; hold it without the handle, so that way, you can tell by feel if it is getting too hot. :)

The consumer demands, smaller, brighter lights. This is definitely the opposite. But still worth looking at and possibly purchasing.

I wonder if it comes with a rail mount????

Looks like you could just take off the handle and dual-sided rail adapter and pop it right on. Imagine that thing hanging underneath the barrel of your AR-15. Probably zero recoil, but you'd only be able to shoulder it for 2 seconds before your arms gave out. :laughing:

So it actually is designed with weapon mounting in mind (albeit not the shoulder-fired type I joked about above :laughing:). Interesting. 2500 meter throw is just awesome. Thanks for the updates.
