I have a 3D Maglite laying around that I would like to mess around with. It is an incandescent light and I would like to do some basic modifications. I would like to transition it to LED but still be able to use Nimh d-cell sized batteries.

What at a great wealth of information on here. If this was your light, and you were just starting out, what would you do to it?

Thanks,

Adam

:welcome:

Based on the question, I'd totally go Malkoff. Either this, or this.

High quality, very good prices, ease of installation, guaranteed function, plus a fun, easy intro to modding... hard to go wrong.

Things can get quite a lot crazier from there, and I wish you fun and usefulness whichever path you take with it!

Yup Malkoff. Or FiveMega (a member here in the forum).

Next up Ultra Clear Lens (a must no matter what), I like a crenelated bezel. I also love some of FiveMega's tail caps. You may also check out Bust-A-Cap tail caps? I don't like them, cause no tail standing, but you may dig that kinda thing.
