Hello all!

Well I am looking to replace a number of 12V G4 Halogen Bulbs in my house (kitchen cabinet lights in the main).

A quick search on eBay reveals thousands of sellers offering G4 LED bulbs. There appear to be in the main 1.5w, 2w & 3w bulbs - with choices of warm white or cool white and AC or AC/DC.

I image the majority of these are of Chinese origin - most appear to be unbranded.

Are we at the stage where these bulbs are now generally reliable?

I am looking at the 3w warm white DC bulbs - but which to go for?! Anything I should look for in the specification?

So many choices...

Thanks!

I have got some of the flat disc ones with SMD's. They have been in my range hood but the one thing I still don't like is that the are not that warm. More yellow.

Ikea sells a G4, about 80 lumens and really nice CRI with good warmth. They will work with both 12V AC or DC. If have 12V AC and you get a DC one, normally the light will flicker like buggery.
